Detailed TrueSync Plus instructions
As always, back up your data files first before you try a
new sync process/application. To use TrueSync Plus to extend your sync capabilities
with the REX 6000, you'll need to:
- Download TrueSync Plus and TrueSync Component Install from
Xircom or Excite (see the Sync Options page for those
URLs).
- Install TrueSync Plus
- Install TrueSync Component Install (a tool that allows you
to download updates to TrueSync Plus, including updated "accessors"
which are the components in TrueSync Plus that allow you to sync with different
PIMs)
- Run TrueSync Component Install to update TrueSync to the
latest versions of the available accessors. This is an easy tool to use -
it locates available updates to TS Plus via the Internet and offers them to
you in a list - you select the ones you want to update and voila - files are
downloaded and installed. There are updates to the TS Plus program itself,
as well as new and updated "accessors" that allow TS Plus to access
and sync your data. There are three types of accessors that are used in TS
Plus:
- Application accessors - allow sync with Outlook, Notes,
Organizer, etc.
- Device accessors - allow sync with devices like the
REX 3 and 5 (REX 6000 not supported!), Palm Pilot, Motorola phones,
etc.
- Service accessors - allow sync with services like Yahoo
Calendar, Excite calendar, and Truesync.com (the Truesync internet calendar
service), etc.
You would need to use the "Client/Add" menu choice in TrueSync Plus to add
the accessors for the supported applications, devices, and services you
need to to get your data from the Intellisync for REX supported applications
(e.g., Yahoo Calendar or Outlook) to your preferred PIM supported by TrueSync
Plus (e.g., Lotus Notes or Organizer 5).
- After completing the update via TS Component Install, run
TS Plus and select the applications/devices/services you want to sync with,
and then run TS Plus to try the sync out and see if it works as expected.
Hope that helps. For more details on using TS Plus, see the
TS Plus help files.
